Her hooves trod lightly on the ground as she trotted across the lands in silence as usual. Her pinna's picked up on the cascading river and even a twig snapping deep within the forest. This is what she liked- to be able to listen to the world around her. But she knew what she must do. She was but two years old and had been chased from her home. Now she needed to find a home of her own with a loving stag with whom to have foals. She saw the other mares as they waited for the stags to come. They were all older than her and poor Jewel felt extremely vulnerable in this land full of strangers whom she knew nothing of. She did not want to do this and did not feel ready but something told her she must so she pressed on. Her mane and tail flew gracefully behind her and her legs were being picked up in perfect, graceful movements. This was where her life had brought her. Having been brought up in a kingdom with the rank of princess she was not used to the way she was being looked at. Her parents had told her that her beauty would get her claimed in no time but she had her doubts on that. Instead of hesitating she found a spot by the river away from the others and there grudgeful stares and raised her maw to the heavens of light and called to all those light stags out there to show she was there and they lay lown. She knew she was in heat, knew how much more vulnerable that made her. She sighed and listened to the noises around her, worries flying around her mind.

Her white pelt could be seen at the top of a small hill and then moving down it, towards the homeless mares. Glass Rose took in the sweet scents of the dried leaves falling from the treetops, the dried grass which just begged to be eaten. The Queen spotted the ashy mare near the river away from the other mares. It hurt Rose to see one alone, she didn't know why, the mare just thought everyone felt better when in the company of others.
Her ivory mane swished in front of her hazel orbs as she came to a walk. She came to a full stop a few meters away from the other mare, being sure to give her enough personal space. Parting her labrums, the Queen let out her melodic vocals, Greetings stranger. I am called Glass Rose or Glass or Rose. The ivory mare smiled as she realized how she must sound, Rambling as usual. Rose scolded herself in her thoughts. I live at the Sapphire Oasis, may I know your blessing? She watched the mare, after the dissappearance of darks, this was the first other horse she had seen save for Amulet of course.

Jewel looked up at the mare and smiled. Greetings Rose, I am blessed Sea Jewel but many call me Jewel. she said politely. She raised to her hooves and lowered her head in respect for the mare. Then she looked up again and blinked. How many days had it been since she left her old home? How many days would she remain alone? She did not wish to think of the answers for these questions and instead smiled at the mare. Her ashen coat shone brightly in the sun. After a while she took a sip from the cool river and once again looked at the mare blessed Rose. What a beautiful name. She thought as she thought it over and then listened to the mare intently.

The pale mare nodded as she heard the ashen one's calling. Well, 'tis a pleasure to meet you Jewel. I am sure that you have heard of the victory against the darks. It's nice not to worry about getting tricked to hurt from another. I never understood their ways... She trailed off in thought and memories. Of the last time that she saw him, before he left to travel over the mountains. Shaking her crown, Rose made herself travel back to the present. I'm sorry, just thinking. She smiled to Jewel, feeling embarrassed for her thoughts. It wasn't polite to go off into space while speaking to another.

Jewel smiled. She felt at home when someone rambled on and was rather taken aback when the fae apologised. No need to apologise. she laughed. How good it felt to be with another. She shook her head, making her mane fly wildly in the wind. Then she bowed. She almost always felt a need to bow to those who wiped out the darks. With no darks around the fae would always be at ease. She sighed. Happiness- how good could it be?
